, I WASHINGTON PARK NOTES HOMEWOOD, 111., June 4. John Hertz left Thursday for New York to witness the running of the Suburban Handicap at Belmont Park Saturday. The Hertz horses in charge of W. Knapp will arrive at Arlington Park about ten days prior to the opening of the Arlington season. Joseph McLennan, racing secretary at Arlington Park, arrived today from New York and directed compilation of the supplementary nominations and remaining original entries for the twelve stakes to be run during the Arlington meeting. Trainer W. Finnegan of the Pantages Stable reports that Sharp Thoughts, winner of the Agua Caliente Futurity, is training well and will be pointed for the Post and Paddock Stakes at Arlington Park. A. A. Baroni will ship his band to Latonia at the conclusion of the present meeting. Willie Hinphy, former jockey, who has been racing a small band in recent years, is on the grounds with two horses. His brother Pat saddled Crash, a winner at Bainbridge Park Tuesday. Usual Time, Oslo, Fiala and Chief John were among the additions to the schooling list Tuesday. Horsemen now racing at Washington Park who intend shipping to Winnipeg, Canada, for the two weeks racing at that point, from June 13 to July 2, are requested to get in touch with Frank Sullivan at the secretarys office between 10 and 11 a. m. any day this week. Sullivan is getting together a special consignment to be shipped to the Canadian city. The Holly Beach Farm, owned by S. W. Labrot, will furnish its first starters of the meeting when Porphyry and Tred Avon go to the post Thursday. This stable arrived at Lincoln Fields in charge of W. Irvine last Sunday. John Lowe reported the Cary T. Grayson Stable, embracing a dozen head, leaves Ben-ning today for Washington Park. The Audley Farms Craftsman, full brother to Nellie Custis, was unsexed by Dr. Lovell this morning. Stalls for twenty-five horses were set aside at Lincoln Fields for Mose Lowenstein. Lowenstein is shipping ten from New York and their upon arrival here will bring from Douglas Park the fifteen he has had at that Louisville track for some time. Lowenstein will race his big stable through the remainder of the Chicago season. — si
