MAP.VINA, quick to get going, took the lead with a slight loss of ground and. increasing her advantage Entering the stretch, continued well, but closed under mild hand riding. PLAYING began fast, saved ground and, holding on gamely, held second place safe. ESCOBA LAND, in close quarters shortly after the start, raced forwardly and outfinished BEALTY SECRET. The latter saved much ground and showed a fair performance. HASTY POLLY, forced to lose ground on the first turn, tired in the last eighth. KITTY F. and PIROGUE, fractious at the post and the latter away slowly, were always outrun. VIXEN LASSIE showed early speed. MUCKER, slightly outrun for a quarter, went to the inside on the stretch turn and, responding strongly, Worked his way up with a rush in the last eighth and won easily. PORPHYRY raced wide throughout, worked his way up gradually after three eighths and closed gamely. EMULATOR began fast, was much used forcing the pace and tired in the final drive. TELA, away well, but lacking speed, dropped far out of it and closed with a rush. AGITATOR, close up under restraint for half a mile, was in close quarters on the Stretch and tired in the final drive. JEANNE WACHS showed speed for five-eighths. GENGHIS KHAN quit. INDIAN RUNNER, away well, but outrun, moved up on the stretch turn and, going to the outside, out-Stayed DYAK. The latter saved ground, suffered mildly when ANTHONY WAYNE swerved in the stretch and closed gamely. CEE TEE began slowly, was taken to the inside on the turn, then improved his position gradually until the last seventy yards, where he tired and came out of the race with a bad cut below the left stifle. HAND TO HAND forced the pace under restraint, held the lead briefly in the stretch and raced gamely in the final drive, but was overmatched. JEAN LAFITTE, forced back approaching the turn, saved ground entering the stretch and tired under his impost. JOEY BIBB quit. SUITOR tired after showing the most speed for five-eighths. ALLEGRETTO, under restraint for seven-eighths, moved up boldly on the outside in the stretch, but tired in the closing stages. SPUD, close up throughout, challenged entering the stretch. PRETTY PENNY had no mishaps. BALTHASAR quit. KLAIR showed early speed. SAN PRESTO was outrun.
