TOP CLOUD moved up on the outside of the others on the stretch turn a*id, shaking off TOLTEC in the last eighth, had enough in reserve to withstand the fast closing CHESTER. The latter finished courageously. TOLTEC set a fast pace until midway of the stretch, then tired and barely saved third place. CAPTAINS DAUGHTER improved her position and finished fast on the outside. AUTUMN BLOOM finished well. FIG LEAF acted badly at the post and showed a good performance. HARD ROCK tired. BOCARATONE closed fast on the outside after rounding the far turn, took command midway of the stretch and drew clear thereafter. KLINGSTONE closed a big gap in the last quarter. DELMA DUNN raced forwardly throughout and outgamed CAPTAIN J. S. in the final drive. The latter was in close quarters most of the way, but saved ground in the stretch. CURDLE showed improvement. MECLONA raced well to the head of the stretch, then tired badly. THISTLE DUKE quit in the stretch. STAMPDALE moved into second place approaching the stretch turn and held the others safe thereafter. DOUBLE O. improved his position and outgamed CRUSHED STONE. The latter showed early speed, but tired steadily after going half the way. HARASS tired. MUFF was crowded back after the start. OUR JOHNNY dwelt at the start. ANITAS FAL closed stronsly on the outside entering the stretch, overhauled FRED ALMY in the last sixteenth and outlasted the latter under mild urging. FRED ALMY improved his position, took command midway of the stretch, but failed! to withstand the challenge of the winner. SOUTHTOUR showed early speed, but tired in the last eighth. OUR CHERRYCOTE closed much ground and finished fast. TEMPUS raced forwardly, but at no time showed his accustomed speed. CLOIDO acted badly at the post, four times running off an eighth before the start. ROSA W. and COMMANDMAN tired badly. WILDER began slowly. BOSKY was forced back and had to work his way up on the outside, but finished gamely and was wearing down the winner. RICHARD McDONNELL raced LANG into defeat, showed good speed, but finished tiring. ICARUS closed fast in the stretch. LAURIE improved her position and finished resolutely. LANG raced well to the stretch, then tired badly. The others also tired. BRIGHT FLASH, showing marked improvement, was a keen factor throughout and held on gamely in the final drive. PURLIE displayed good speed throughout, finished gamely but in close quarters between the loaders. THOMAS PATRICK raced evenly. UNION W. closed fast on the outside on the far turn, where he crossed over on LENOX AVENUE, forcing the latter to pull up and finished resolutely, as did ED REESE. SUPER TOY and LENOX AVENUE suffered interference on the first turn. WATTAHORSE tired.
