J. E. WIDENER NOMINATIONS Names Seven to Each of Big Steeplechase Features to Be Run at Arlington Park. Joseph E. Widener, president of the Westchester Racing Association, and at the head of Miami racing, who has just had his bill legalizing the pari-mutuel in Florida passed over a gubernatorial veto, is the biggest nominator in the North Shore and Lake Forest Handicaps, steeplechases of two miles and two miles and a half, respectively, which will be features of the July racing at Arlington Park, each carrying an added money value of ,000 and grossing about ,000. He has named seven in each — Fairmount, Indigo, Taurus II., Bagatelle, Alert and Drapeau. Mrs. John Hay Whitney, Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark and the Fox Chapel Stud have nominated four each, Mrs. Whitneys candidates being Cawvoge, Abdul II., San Romolo and Coq Gris; Mrs. Clarks are Crumpler, Contrition, Madiola and Tassel; the Fox Chapel Studs are Nopal, Sardaneza, Libertin and Acrobate II. The last four are French, and importations of last year. Benjamin Leslie Behr, a Chicagoan, has named Royal Play and Tod Sloan; James Simpson, Jr., of Chicago, Trieste and Cahan-amore. Albert C. Bostwick has nominated Oesel and Zinita; Edward Riley Bradley, Mirbat and Beelzebub; J. Fred Adams, Gracie; R. B. Allen, John Peel; Victor Emanuel, Kiang; Mrs. M. W. Holden, Luckite; Justa Farm Stable, North Woods and Highland Captain; John W. Lawrence, Silver Dream II.; John Pat McGovern, My Care; Rigan McKinney, Inception; the Rolling Plains Stable, Sun Eclipse and Silver Jay; A. Charles Schwartz, Cree; the Sewickley Stable, Humanist and Glaneur; Morris Ve-hon, Blessfield; Bayard Warren, Canterbury; Miss Blanche Watson, Queens Pal; Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney, Beacon Hill.
