WARREN WRIGHT BUYS LADANA Arlington Park Director Places Daughter of Lucullite Under Care of Willie Knapp. NEW YORK, N. Y., Jan. 4. Warren Wright, wealthy Chicago sportsman who is a member of the board of directors of Arlington Park, comes into racing this season as the owner of Ladana, four-year-old daughter of Lucullite and Adana, which he purchased a few days ago from Victor Emanuel, who races under the name of Dorwood Stable. The filly will be trained by William Knapp,; who has the horses of Mr. and Mrs. John Hertz, and he already has shipped her to the Leona Stock farm at Cary, III., where she will receive her preliminary training before returning to Belmont Park later in the spring with the Hertz horses. Ladana, a half sister to Ariel, Nedana and Celidon, is intended for a brood mare after her racing days are over. She will be sent to Wrights Calumet farm near Lexington,-where the several mares the Chicago sportsman purchased at the Whitney sale last fall are now quartered. Ladanas second dam Mannie Himyar, is a sister to Domino. Ladana was bred by Harry F. Sinclair and raced with success ia his silks, but at his sal sale at Saratoga in August, she went to Emanuel on a bid of ,500. In her two seasons of racing, the daughter of Lucullito, has won seven races and 8,790.
