VOLE saved much ground while under restraint for five-eighths, went to the outside, impeded DIXIE DAN before drawing clear and won without need of pressure. ENTRAP, rated along under restraint until the closing three-eighths, gamely responded to hard urging and outlasted FORTUNE. The latter met early interference, remained far back for three-quarters and, taken to the outside in the stretch, closed well. DIXIE DAN showd speed, saved ground and was tiring when interfered with by the winner. COLONEL K., under restraint for seven-eig hths, failed to respond when urged. POST HORN could not get up. GOLD BET, forced to race wide in the early stages, moved up resolutely, on the turn, was unable to reach the winner, but held on well. CHARM, a factor throughout, saved much ground. WEST VIRGINIA began fast,dropped back slightly on the turn, but closed well. PERFECT PLAY began slowly, was hard ridden and closed a gap. SAM COLE worked his way up with a slight loss of ground in the first half, then tired. ELIZABETH SULLIVAN dropped out of it after three-sixteenths and, outrun thereatfer, showed a dull performance. OUR GRIEF moved up gradually in the first quarter, raced around the leaders with a rush approaching the final half mile, saved ground after drawing clear and, maintaining good speed, had something left. LAZY MARY, well ridden, saved much ground on the second turn, withstood hard urging gamely and wore down BOB UP in the final strides. The latter began fast, was under restraint for three-quarters and held on gamely. DIANAMEDE was taken into the lead, but tired in the stretch. VERITY BALLOT, under restraint for half a mile, tired after challenging entering the stretch. DIZZY showed good speed for three-quarters. KAY FRANCES bore out on the first turn and was never a factor. CHARLIE BILLS began fast, but was unable to keep up, showed improved speed after half a mile, went around the leaders entering the stretch and, holding on well, just failed to last. SONNY BASIL gradually improved his position until reaching the final eighth, then tired. ROBOT ran out badly on the firtt turn, showed speed, but quit in the closing quarter. FLEETING GOLD was in close quarters on the far turn. DOREEN PRINCESS showed early speed and was weakly ridden. BROAD MEADOWS racing in his best form and quick to start was taken to the inside after drawing clear in the first eighth, was rated along under light restraint to the stretch, where he continued strongly under occasional mild pressure but had little left. NYACK hard ridden from the start and outrun for half a mile came through on the inside and was going fastest of all at the end. FIDDLER under restraint until the final five-eighths held on gamely. MY HOBBY raced into the lead on the inside and, increasing his advantage under restraint on the turn, tired, but lasted under strong riding. GRAND PRINCE, always close up, saved ground on the turn, responded gamely after going to the outside of the leader in the closing eighth and was fast wearing down the winner. MY SWEETS, a factor from the start, lost ground and quit badly, yet outstayed LA COMPERE. The latter, hard ridden, showed speed, but tired when ANNAPOLITAN struck her heels and dropped back steadily, thereafter. CRAZY COOT had no mishaps. ANNAPOLITAN began slowly, but moved up fast on the inside when he struck the heels of LA COMPERE entering the stretch and fell.
