f TORONTO RACING NOTES f Bob Grahams Kings Plate candidate, Illumination, has been turned over to Pat Mulholland to train and is receiving her preparation at Dufferin Park. It is reported that the plater Oat Box suffered a broken leg at the W. E. Bulmer farm and had to be destroyed. The string of W. E. Bulmer, numbering six head, have been turned over to Howard Munson to train. Included in the lot are Be Cautious and Be Thankful, two Bradley-bred juveniles of unusually high promise. Lawrence Lyke, one of Americas foremost riders a few years ago, paid a visit to Woodbine Park Wednesday morning, during a business trip to Toronto. H. A. Coulsons good campaigner, Fly Guy, recently returned to training after being fired in Florida, will be on the shelf for several months as the result of being kicked on the knee by C. S. Mitchells Sweet Sentiment, while on the Woodbine track Wednesday morning. The wound required three stitches to close. Jockey A. McKechnie has signed to ride for the stable of Ryland H. New. The horses which Frank Gilpin brought to the Ontario Jockey Club course from winter quarters at J. C. Fletchers farm recently, are Kebbie, Powder Monkey, Sleepy Belle, Indian Club and Set Free, all three-year-olds. ■ Outstanding among the trials of Wednesday morning at Woodbine Park was the five furlongs work of Queensway, R. W. R. Cowies Kings Plate candidate and future favorite for the stakes. In company with fcr-ears winner Froth Blower, from the same stable, the filly went five furlongs in 1:03%, galloping six furlongs in 1:20, going easily. John Petz has taken out a jockeys license and will ride for William Garth.
