CAMPDORE clung to the rail entering the stretch and. responding gamely to hard urgimr. took a short lead a sixteenth out, but just lasted to hold HIGH SHOT. The latter forced the early pace, but swung wide entering the stretch and was caining with every stride. SLFIVFS PRIDE dashed to the front soon after the start, but could not hold the first two. KING AT ARMS, close up from the start, overtook ROYAL CARLARIS entering the stretch, took i clear lead and, holding on gamely when challenged by SHASTA STAR at mid stretch, had enough left to withstand the latter in the closing strides. SHASTA STAR appeared to tire after drawinsr up on practically even terms with the winner. RED CHILI closed well. ROYAL CARLARIS tired.
