BIG FLOOD, prominent from the start and showing good speed, gained resolutely near the stretch, was bothered when HAPPY ANNE swerved out near the last eighth post, but continued well and outlasted SUN ARCHER. The latter worked his way up on the outside and finished resolutely. HAPPY ANNE showed good early speed until entering the stretch, when she began to swerve to the outside and tired in the final eiehth. ALEETA saved ground entering the stretch and finishd eamolv. FLAG VIEW was forced to race wide. BROAD BILL, a slow starter, was outrun. ROYAL DURBAR had no excuses. QUEEN BETH began fast, but lacked speed. WILLINGDON, saved behind the pace for the first mile, reached contention after the ninth fence, came gamely after taking the final fence and outlasted NIGHT RETREAT on the flat. NIGHT RETREAT, well placed in the early stages, wore down CAHANEMORE after taking the twelfth fence, gained a short lead at the final fence, but could not withstand the winner. CAHANEMORE assumed command at once, was steadied alone until challenged, made a lad landing at the twelfth fence and tired badly in the final half mile. LOCHSHEE was unable to menace the leaders at any stage. BLANTON was always outrun. FUGITIVE had no mishaps. BO BALLOT was far back of the others throughout. FESTOON. I. M. HENDRICH and MY CARE fell at the first obstacle. RIENZI lost his rider at the start and DAMRINDA his at the second jump. MUSKOGEE and EIDERBARD fell at the twelfth fence. HURRY BYE fell at the tenth. THE DOCTOR, racing forwardly from the start, took command leaving the back stretch, saved ground in the final stages and, responding to punishment near the finish, outlasted ENRO. The latter gained fast when put to a drive and was wearing down the winner. SIR BYRON held on well. REFORM also finished well. YOUR FLAG tired in the stretch. DONYA was unable to reach the leaders. CLOIRADO quit early, as did JILTED. GOLDEN FATE, showing good speed to reach the leaders and forced to the outside of SLAPSTICK and DARK LOVE entering the stretch, took command at the final eighth post and held ACAUTAW safe. The latter, outrun for three eighths, moved up fast near the stretch, stumbled at the last eighth post, recovered quickly and closed resolutely. CANTORIA, hard urged throughout, finished gamely. DARK LOVE raced SLAPSTICK into defeat, but could not continue when the final issue came. MISGUIDE raced wide all the way. SLAPSTICK showed good earlv speed. STEALINGAWAY was outrun. CHAT-MOSS had too much taken out of him assuming the l»ad and tired. LADINO began well, but was alwavs outrun. BRAVE AND BOLD could not get up. ALL ROWES was worked out to a mile. GARLIC, kept closer up than usual took the lead leaving the back stretch, but was not good enough. SWATTER raced close up and showed a good performance. TINITA «ould not improve her position. REDCL1FFE tired when hard urged. ERIC THE RED tired. SYRIAC would not extend himself.
