ANOTHER McCUAN VICTORY! Parties Scores in Feature at Sportsmans Park — Allens Ride Big Factor in Triumph. CICERO, 111., May 11. — Parties, a daughter of Messenger and Garden Rose, carried the white and green silks of Ed McCuan to another victory when she won the feature race, namely the Sunset Club Purse. Crowned Head got up in the final stages to take second place from Harry Hieover. The winner, taken under restraint 1 in the early stages, gained steadily under I the clever rating of jockey R. Allen, whose 1 saving of ground entering the stretch proved a deciding factor in the final result. Crowned Head might have been returned the winner but as he straightened out for the run home he caromed into Harry Hie-over and almost fell. He recovered quickly, but the winner had slipped through next to the rail and continued in game fashion to the end. Crowned Head held on gamely to be second. Harry Hieover lost considerable ground in the back stretch when he bore out badly, and it was all that jockey H. Seabo could do to manage him. Hypoluxo and King Hal-ma failed to leave with the others and were left at the post. This exasperated the patrons to such an extent that they cast "boos" at the riders of both horses when they returned to the scales. George Seabo was substituted for J. Connors on One Grand in the second race and he came through with another clever ride to score his second win in as many races. Marabou, the favorite, was second and Deserve accounted for third money. Favorite players got a break when Thats All made good in the third race. Sir John K. raced to second place, and Boyish Bob, an outsider, finished third. Beige was one of the choices in this but had such a rough race that he would have had to give an extraordinary performance to earn honors. However, he finished gamely and can do better. King Cherokee scored his second consecutive victory of the meeting when he made a runaway of the fourth race, called the West Suburban Club Purse. Dr. Parrish raced to second place and Port o Play finished third.
