Nugent made the mistake with Monde and 1 Vaughn erred with Bunting Lad. J. D. Mikel, who paid a flying visit to Kansas City, returned today. Mikel intends 3 racing a division of his string at Riverside i Park. A. Sacre was an arrival with Mole Hill 1 and one other, the property of A. J. Cleary ; of Chicago. Jockey W. Boganowski got in from Churchill Downs and will begin riding Thursday. - Jockey C. Critchfield, who rode War Saint to victory on Tuesday, is staging a comeback after having been out of the saddle for many months. Critchfield suffered a broken leg last winter and, although he still limps a 1 trifle, showed by his good ride on War Saint that he ha6 lost none of his skill. Jockey Tony Salazar drew into a tie for t second place in the Exposition Park jockey r standing when he rode two winners Tuesday. • Both he and J. McCoy have ridden 1 eight winners to date, while C. King, the ■ leader, has piloted ten horses to victory. Jockey G. Quackenbush reported ill on 1 Wednesday and cancelled his riding engagement. ■ In the absence of H. C. Ragan, whose daughter recently died in Kentucky, S. F. • Murphy saddled Dusky Dame and Migosh, » the Ragan entry, in the first race Wednesday. • Dr. Freeland turned in another good work Wednesday morning when he covered six : furlongs in 1:14%. Tannery breezed the i same distance in 1:17%. « .
