SUN MAN, rated along under light restraint for three-quarters, went to the leaders when ready and, taking command entering the stretch, held CUDGELDOE safe. The latter, forvvardly placed, was put to hard urging in the stretch, but was not good enough. STEP FORWARD, a factor from the start, held on well. TOUT FEU could not reach the leaders. COLUMN RIGHT, outrun for half a mile, worked his way up on the outside and, wearing down the leaders in the closing eighth, drew clear at the end. THE BLACK raced PARADE REST into defeat, but tired; SORCERY in the deeper going, finished gamely. PARADE REST tired under punishment. OUR JEWELL did not threaten. IMAGALE tired badly. The latter began slowly, circled the others and finished fast. STRETCHER shook off BOUNDER after half a mile, saed much ground, but was not good enough. PROMPTER tired. FINALIST was outrun.
