ALLURING ARLINGTON PARK Riot of Color to Greet Patrons of Mammoth Northwest Side Track. Nothing .Brighter or Gayer Than Silks on the Jockeys List of Colors of Prominent Racing Establishments. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, HI., June 22. The track that set a new epoch in racing, alluring Arlington, just thirty-five minutes ride distant from Chicago, reopens Monday, June 27, with one of the most gala fetes of the summer. In the sea of color that overflows the red roofed club house, the terraced slope to the rail thick with wild roses, and new highlights in the gorgeous sun umbrellas dotting the verandas of the Post and Paddock Club, nothing is gayer or brighter than the brilliant silks on the jockeys mounted on the satin coats of horses whose value totals the sum known in older times as "a kings ransom." Few persons, even in racing circles, are familiar with the silks of their favorite stables. Some of the most prominent colors in the United States include Capt. Marshall Field III.s straw, straw cap with cerise hoops. Mrs. Field, who also has entries for Arlington, chooses as her silks emerald green with peacock blue sleeves and cap. Warren Wright, who races under the name of the Calumet Stable, uses burnt orange reddish orange, rather and a good old American blue. The cap is orange. Mrs. John Hertz chooses yellow with a black circle on the sleeves and a yellow cap. Silks used for jockeys blouses are whatever you choose to buy at your favorite shop. Choice of color, of course, is passed upon by the American Jockey Club, to which you must submit your ideas so as not to conflict with previous registrations of color or. combinations of colors.
