The latter, a factor from the start, dropped back entering the stretch, but responded in the closing eighth and was overtaking the winner. DECORATION LADY showed speed, saved ground and tired in the final drive. GLORIA DIANE stumbled at the start. MINOT failed to improve his position. CAPTAIN T. becan fast. HUNCHBACK began slowly. DREAMY BELLE finished resolutely. OCEAN FLIGHT came again near the end. ELEGY had no mishaps. The latter, restrained for three-quarters, took a commanding lead, but was not good enough. BROAD AXE .showed speed, was well rated, but tired. IRENE T. had no mishaps.
