ZION WINS NIAGARA FEATURE NIAGARA FALLS, Ont., Aug. 22. Cheap claiming races dominated the program at Stamford Park today, each of the seven events having the claiming clause attached. The attendance was surprisingly large and weather conditions left little to be desired. Occupying the stellar position on the card, was a sprint of three-quarters that engaged the limit number of starters. This test bore the title of the Win Again and was fashioned for platers, four-year-olds and over. H. C. Ellis furnished the winner in Zion, a son of Zev and Barbary, and, incidentally, it was the first race won this year by the gelding. Zion was grouped in the field with Virado and Beaumont. Toe Dance turned in her usual consistent effort to take second place four lengths back of the winner and a half length before Bookie, a lightly regarded one that landed third. Steward David Gillies, of the Canadian Racing Associations, stopped off at Stamford Park while on his way to Fort Erie with a Dominion government official. It is understood that his. trip was in connection with the "ringing" of Voltagreen for that of Janie G.
