ONDOTT was in early trouble. SPORTING PEARL began slowly and was never a factor. The latter, probably best, was in close quarters on the first turn and again on the far turn, then came to the outside and closed fast and was overtaking the winner. CAPTAIN ED raced wide, but held on well. BARNEY SEXTON showed a fair performance. FINNIC and PREFER tired. WHIPPER CRACKER was outrun all the way. MAD CAREER sulked. GOLDEN PRINCE could not keep up. COME ON closed a gap. GAY BIRD and CAIUS tired. WATCH TOWER acted badly at the barrier and, propping, was practically left.
