t BAINBRIDGE TURF NOTES s A mammoth sprinkler has been purchased which will be used to water the course in race intervals and settle the dust which forms rapidly because of the soil mixture. The new device is on an auto body and sprays large stream of water practically over the entire width of the oval. It makes the trip around the course hurriedly and is rapidly refilled. Flowers, shrubbery, trees and grass planted during the early part of the year are now in full bloom and the little plant near Geauga Lake is a picture. Jim Korndorfer, assistant to Steve Schooler in the mutuel plant and crack youthful New Orleans golfer, is one of the favorites in the Cleveland Plain Dealer driving contest. Naylor Stone, former sports writer of the Memphis Scimiter, has been assigned to the Cleveland Press and is covering racing. Frank Hayes will be in charge of the "daily double" windows at Bainbridge as formerly. Julius Reeder writes that the amateur rider and fashion show innovations have proven attractive at Canadian tracks. Us is now planning, with Leo Dandurand, the mammoth opening of Blue Bonnets. Dent McSkimming, former St. Louis sports writer, has been appointed by general manager Robert S. Eddy, Jr., to do the publicity work at Fairmount Park for the meeting which opens there September 17. Mr. Eddy was due in St. Louis Monday, according to word received here.
