POLO PARK OPENS SEPTEMBER 1 WINNIPEG, Man., Aug. 22. With a purse offering of 0,000, Winnipegs fall racing season will get under way at Polo Park Thursday afternoon, September 1. Canadas premier middle western city has two fine centrally located race tracks, both of which have become popular with a large number of American owners of horses during the past few years. There will be seven days at Polo Park, followed by a meeting of the same duration at Whittier Park, with only one day between the two meets. Racing has always been well supported by the public of Winnipeg. Attendance aver-t ages nearly 4,000 on week days and 9,000 on Saturdays. A stake of ,000 is the opening day attraction. This will be an open race for three-year-olds and over. Each day there will be a handicap with a purse of ,000 and other events range from 00 to 00. George W.
