MARLBORO TURF NOTES $ John Purcell Turner, who did admirable work here this week as a racing secretary, will leave Tuesday for Thorncliffe, where he will act as steward and racing secretary. He will be accompanied by his son, John P. . Turner, Jr., who will act as assistant racing secretary. Jockeys Roy McCrann and Frank Sargent were injured in an automobile accident while driving over the Bowie Road in the direction of Washington Friday night. Their car was side-swiped and turned over. They were taken to the Casualty Hospital in Washington. Pat Remillard will finish this meeting as the leading rider, having had seven victories to four for T. W. Shaw Friday. Remillard and Shaw will both perform during next weeks racing at Timonium. Charlie Meister vanned eight loads of horses from here to Pimlico and Timonium to await the opening of the third lap of the fall season Monday. Timoniums stalls are filled and several hundred additional horses whose owners desire to race there have been moved into Pimlico. While state half-mile tracks are overcrowded with, horses, Syracuse, N. Y., and Wheeling, W. Va., are crying for horses to fill their cards. Both tracks are willing to pay the shipping expenses of any horseman who desires to go to their meeting. The sheriff who yesterday tied up Five Oaks for an unpaid bill, now has Hogarty, an old Maryland favorite, under padlock. Due to the crowded conditions around Timonium, several stables have decided to ship direct from here to Hagerstown to await that meeting, which begins Tuesday, September 13,
