LOUIE DEAR went around the leaders in the stretch, drew into a safe lead and won with speed to spare. ZONE met interference in the stretch and, going to the inside in the last eighth, closed fast. FAIRY LASS showed good speed, but bore out in the stretch and tired in the last eighth. SALLY IRENE was impeded entering the last eighth and with better luck would have been more of a factor. CAYUGA showed a good performance. LAZY MARY raced well. INFINITY forced the early pace and was forced wide in the stretch. The latter rallied after entering the stretch and closed fastest of all. HOT SHOT, a factor throughout, had to lose ground, but held on gamely. PORTMANTEAU moved up in the stretch, then tired. DORIS JEAN came through on the inside on the turn, but tired. MISS TULSA quit. MARTIE FLYNN began slowly and was never a factor. HOOPS, away slowly and allowed to remain out of it until reaching the stretch, saved ground at the turn, swerved, but rallied when shaken up and, coming to the outside of the leaders, slowly wore them down and won drawing out. CAMP BOSS had speed, was strongly restrained early, lost ground on the turn and held on courageously. SMEAR, on the inside throughout, rushed to the lead entering the stretch and weakened in the final drive. HAMILTON quit. GETTIN EVEN, on the outside much of the trip, tired and was worked out an additional quarter. ARAB quit badly.
