1 LAT0NIA TURF NOTES 1 - -$ Thomas E. Nashs colors were seen for the first time during the meeting when Sally Irene carried them in the third race Tuesday. Charles McTague, apprentice, will accompany the O. Viau stable to New Orleans. C. A. Bidencope is shipping Stella F., Tight Rope, Estin and three others to New Orleans and will be among the first getting away following the close Saturday. Following the close here J. J. Flanigan will take Arouse, Lugano and Sister Electa to Louisville, where they will winter. Heinie Cavanaugh will be an absentee from winter racing, as he has decided to winter a large string at Lexington. From here he will transfer to Lexington Manta, Murky Cloud, Gunstrap, Rector, Quick Verdict, Belen, Runar and others. For the 1933 campaign his stable will be augmented by a number of two-year-olds and several older horses, which ran out since early summer. B. B. Rice, acting for L. W. Ulmer, purchased Hoosier Prince from Howard Wells. Ulmer acquired the two-year-old Active American several days ago. The division of the H. C. Hatch stable which L. Gentry campaigned here will be shipped to Bowie aSturday night. In Maryland Gentry will take over several horses for other- patrons, possibly a few for Col. E. R. Bradley, who raced some under Gentrys supervision in Florida last winter. Merrill Simmons plans to take his small but useful band to Bowie and hopes to get away this week. W. E. Jones, with Come On and others, may ship with Simmons. James McGee is shipping Helen Bab, Polygeny, Star Brook and others owned by L. C. Young, from here to Louisville, where they will be given a rest before going on to Hialeah Park. Star Brook was unsexed yesterday. Jockeys G. Riley and E. McLaughlin will accompany L. Gentry with the Col. E. R. Bradley horses to Bowie. In all probability the older horses Milton Reiser has in training will be shipped to New Orleans within a few weeks. Reiser has seven yearlings running out and will arrange for their training to be inaugurated shortly after the first of the year. While at Lexington Sunday A. Pelleteri made full arrangements for the loading and departure of the nine yearlings he has there for New Orleans. They get away in a few days and will be shipped to the Fair Grounds. The older division of the Pelleteri stable now at Jefferson Park comprises twelve head. Copley Square, Kilmore and Hatteras will be shipped to New Orleans from here and J. H. McCoole plans to load Sunday or Monday. Bert Williams is shipping Chatwink, High Explosive, Scotland Beauty and Ondott to Lexington and from there may proceed to one of the winter tracks. A. L. Fergusons Major Ben, Threat, Meteoric and Bettina H. go from here to the Ferguson farm, where they will winter. Pierre Pan and Stinger will be shipped to Lexington by William Woodard next week. Frank Rector "has resigned as trainer of the L. M. Severson stable. While he has nothing in view, he should have no trouble making a good connection. Jockey Gilbert Elston may visit with Ros-coe Goose for several weeks at Louisville, while convalescing from injuries received in a fall here two weeks ago. Catalogs for the sale of mares and yearlings, to be held at Timonium Fair Grounds, Maryland, on Friday evening, were distributed here today by William Herring. Octave Viau is negotiating for his former colorbearer, Wood River, and he may be among the Viau horses when they get away for Jefferson Park Sunday or Monday. Others in the shipment will, be Ellen D., Hasola, Magna Mater, Marcelet, Octavia, Club Bag, Agapanthus, Bagataway and several yearlings. J. J. Troxler is considering going to Agua Caliente for the winter and may ship Lady Gibson, Mai San, Just Umber, Chilter and others to the Baja track. While Tom Devereaux has not definitely decided on winter plans for his useful stable, he is looking toward New Orleans, and in all probability will show up there in time for the opening of Jefferson Park. He has a very likely two-year-old in Axtel, also Uncle Matt, Nanny D., Captain Karo, Graceful Lad and Kievette.
