I LAT0NIA TURF NOTES $ and Clyde Van Dusen sent the two-year-olds Hasty Maiden and Pompous Peter to Charles T. Fishers Dixiana Farm, where they will be rested until Van Dsen departs for winter racing. Tom Brown, who served as starter at the J recent Sportsmans Park meeting, arrived from Chicago. After shipping his horses from Chicago to J Oriental Park C. L. Mackey stopped off at Latonia to witness several days of racing. W. E. Charles Sun Gros returned from Laurel, where he was shipped to fill a stakes i engagement. I A. S. Lewis is shipping the W. F. Haiisman horses to Lexington at the close of this meeting. Lewis has not -decided on a winter campaign for the Hausman horses, but may J decide to take in Florida winter racing. J. M. Sinnott arrived from Sportsmans Park with the four-year-old Joan Pat. Albert Gordon was a week-end visitor at , J. B. Respess Highland Stock Farm. Gor- i dons string is in winter quarters at Douglas Park. Major Operation, two-year-old son of Master Charlie and Lady Moonet, owned by O. A. Boeckley and F. T. Wiams, has been 1 turned over to C. H. Trotter to train. Dr. N. E. Southard gelded seven of the yearlings J. B. Respess will race next year. Dick McMahon and D. E. Stewart were up from Lexington for several days. Stewart reported all of Warren Wrights Calumet Farm horses in excellent health, and McMahon, manager of Calumet Farm, is preparing a consignment for the Old Glory 1 sales in New York. F. F. Brant, with the ,p. H. McCaffrey horses, will remain here after the close, then proceed to Douglas Park, where he will winter three yearlings , and others of his employers horses, including Big Brand, Red Cinders, Big- Red and Pete. Jack Howard has definitely decided to xemain at Lexington until December 15 or 20 before going on to Hialeah Park with about eight for the Coldstream Stud and a like number of his own.. Wayne Lewis spent Sunday at W. F. Ax-tons farm, where he inspected the twenty-six Axton yearlings. He reported the youngsters doing well. Mr. Axton has not decided the winter program for his older horses, but may send a division of his large stable to one of the southern tracks. Jockev J. Neel came in from Chicago and reported to J. B. Theall, who has a division of the Lone Star Stable here. I
