ROUSSELL AT BEULAH PARK Columbus Officials Seeking Eiders Eidersof of Character and Reputation Meeting1 Opens Saturday COLUMBUS Ohio May 9 V Roussell of New Orleans who gained some little fame on the winter and middle western tracks several years ago is said to be progressing toward a successful comeback this year He is now in training and exercising horses on the Beulah Park track where he expects to ride during the meeting which begins next Saturday SaturdayOne One of Roussells best seasons was in 1931 when he rode sixty winners and had more than ninety others in the money his mounts that year earning 48650 48650The The Beulah Park officials this year are making a determined effort to have as large a number of competent jockeys on the ground as possible and to this end there is a possibility of the raising of jockey fees William Dangman presiding steward is said to be in favor of this It was Dangman who was credited with breaking up a socalled jockey ring in Ohio last year He hopes this year to elevate the standard of riding efficiency and is encouraging riders of char ¬ acter and reputation to apply for licenses at Beulah
