FAIRMOUNT PARK NOTES Fairmount Park presents its most colorful raiment since the inauguration of the Col ¬ linsville course back in 1925 Under the di ¬ rection of the resident manager Mrs Mildred Snowden flowers and shrubbery have been planted everywhere painting done and a track crew has the track proper in shape for the opening if it were to ¬ morrow T TThe The concession booths are being rear ¬ ranged and constructed and will be under a new management this season with a large bar both in the grandstand and the club proper The clubhouse also will be oper ¬ ated this season under different plans than former years yearsBadges Badges will be received this week and distribution begun also clubhouse member ¬ ships will be placed on sale as formerly formerlyAlready Already there are 100 horses on the grounds including the strings of Bert Per shall who has Malolo among others and the Reichert brothers who have their sterling performer My Dandy resting and getting in shape for the opening on May 26 Word was received at the local office from Texas that there would be seven car loads shipped from that point at the close of meetingsA the Dallas and San Antonio meetings A special train will leave Aurora May 24 comprising no less than eight cars which will be raced at Fairmount Park There also will be several carload shipments prior to that time and as many van shipments direct directTrack Track superintendent Placide Frigerio who is also supervising the track at Au ¬ rora was over for the weekend looking over the track and pronounced it ready for the opening openingGeneral General manager Robert S Eddy Jr who is now at Aurora will be over next Sunday to survey the work going on and to make arrangements for stabling accommodations for the many horses which will come here from pointsConditions Ohio Illinois and Texas points Conditions books were mailed from the printers on Tuesday along with application blanks the book having been approved by racing secretary Richard Leigh who will come here at the close of the Aurora meet ¬ ing ingJohn John T Ireland will be presiding steward of the Fairmount meeting along with Rich ¬ ard Leigh who will act as an associate steward The Illinois Racing Commission will appoint a steward representing that body to officiate The commission also will have a representative in the mutuel depart ¬ ment in addition to the usual array of in ¬ spectors spectorsRichard Richard Leigh Cliff Abbo and Charles Campau will serve as placing judges with G R Wingfield as starter and Tom Craven and William Snyder as paddock and patrol judges G R Bryson will be timer timerA A total of 135600 will be distributed in purses during the thirtyfour day meeting which ends on July 4 4Frank Frank Hawley will be in charge of the jockeys room and announces that no less than forty jockeys will come here from Aurora including some of the leading stars now meetingFreddie riding at the Fox Valley meeting Freddie Craftpn and Rollie Leigh will form part of the secretarial crew who will assist Dick Leigh
