THRONG PLEASES SHEPARD Ohio Eace Fans Approve Beulah BeulahPark Park Racing by Their Presence PresenceInaugural Inaugural Day COLUMBUS Ohio May 14 H D Shep ard president and general manager of the Beulah Park Jockey Club expressed himself today as highly pleased with the attendance at Beulah Park on opening day and racing fans of Columbus and vicinity evidently were delighted with the class of racing racingSaturdays Saturdays crowd was the largest at Beu ¬ lah Park in six years and the mutuel handle one of the largest on record here notwith ¬ standing the fact that many of the late ar ¬ rivals were unable to get into the track enclosure to play their choices in the first and second races While only one favorite won five finished second three losing by a half length or less The Inaugural Handicap won by Diaquri was decided by a quarter of a length and the first five horses were as close together at the finish as a length and a half halfThere There will be many new starters at Beu ¬ lah this week Owners have brought here a number of horses that have recently re ¬ sumed training most of them now ready for action Several features are scheduled for Wednesday Thursday and Saturday
