1 , I EUXINE IN DRIVING FINISH MONTREAL, Que., July 21.— Euxine, four-year-old daughter of Happy Argo and Bambi, racing for J. D. Holland, accounted for the Capitol Theater Handicap, feature offering on the opening day program at Kings Park, in a driving finish by a head over W. Watermans Brandon Prince. Learoyd, from the C. M. Stable, raced to third place three lengths behind the leading pair. A large crowd was on hand to witness the running of the program, with the track at its best. There was a delay of five and a half minutes at the start, caused by the unruly actions of Learoyd and Attribute, but the starter, Thomas Clark, had the field away in perfect alignment. Ellen D. sprinted into the lead at once, followed by Euxine and Brandon Prince. They raced in this order until approaching the half-mile post. Here Ellen D. began to shorten strides and Fator sent Euxine out to take command. She drew into a good lead entering the stretch but had to be placed under punishment in the final furlong to withstand the closing rush of Brandon Prince. The latter came to the outside of the winner for the stretch drive, closed willingly, and was slowly wearing down Euxine at every stride. Meanwhile Learoyd, which had been away slowly, steadily improved his position before Esperanto. ♦
