1 ROCKINGHAM PARK NOTES | $ a Tom Thorp arrived from New York and took his position in the stewards stand. Jockey Alfred Robertson is expected from Arlington Park and plans to remain until the close of the Rockingham session. Stake blanks for the fall meeting of the Maryland Jockey Club were distributed among the horsemen at Rockingham Park. The stakes to be decided over the Pimlico course are the Riggs Handicap, with a value of ,500, the Walden Handicap, ,500, and the Baltimore and Pimlico Handicaps, each ,500 added. Nominations for the four stakes close August 15. Frank Kearns sent word to racing secretary H. D. Monroe that he was vanning four horses to Rockingham Park from New York. Among those listed to come in the shipment was Silk Flag from the Anall Stable as well as Chickahominy. The last of the remaining stakes to be run at the New Hampshire Breeders Association course closed Saturday. This was the Rockingham Park Handicap, to be decided the closing day, over the one mile and a sixteenth distance, for a prize of ,500 added.
