MARKING TIME AT PADE PARK TriState Tracks TwentySix Day Meeting Opens August 4 Extensive Improvements Made This Year Starting Gate and Public Address v System Adopted HENDERSON Ky July 28 With more horses assured than at any previous meet ¬ ing the eleventh annual meeting of the Dade Park Jockey Club promises to be the most successful in the history of the track At the present time nearly 400 thoroughbreds are quartered at the track and more than 500 will be stabled by opening day Saturday August 4 which will be featured by the 1000 Inaugural Handicap for threeyearolds and upward over the six furlongs route The summer meeting will continue twentysix days ending September 3 It is the longest meeting yet held at the western Kentucky course courseJames James C Ellis president and general man ¬ ager of the Dade Park Jockey Club and owner of Dade Park has made extensive improvements at the track this year He has installed a starting gate public address sys ¬ tem and completely overhauled the grand ¬ stand and clubhouse Other officers of the Dade Park Jockey Club are Robert W Hunter vicepresident Drury Smeather secretarytreasurer and Lester E Yeager associate manager managerThe The stewards this year are T C Bradley W H Shelley and J J Graddy William Hamilton is starter N H McClelland clerk of scales Fred Burton entry clerk J R Rash timer Dr I M Hendricks paddock judge R Q Cogar and William Snyder patrol judges and J B McClung supervisor of parimutuelsMr parimutuels Mr Yeager said today that every stall on the grounds had been reserved and there are 250 horses on the waiting list The Ellis stable is one of the largest on the grounds headed by a veteran campaigner Leros There are twenty horses in the Ellis string W W Taylor comes next with seventeen with five from Latonia and twelve from Rockingham with several winners from both tracks headed by Silverdale The Cattell Stable with E Kaiser as trainer has fif ¬ teen mostly twoyearolds that won the ma ¬ jority of the races of that age both at Louis ¬ ville and Latonia with Elwawa outstanding C B Marlman and J G Brown each have twelve useful horses horsesPLENTY PLENTY GOOD MATERIAL MATERIALTheodore Theodore E Mueller member of the Ken tucky State Racing Commission has nine good horses trained by J H Moody W Crump has five horses headed by Cherry Time J G Chinns stable of four is headed by I Pass My Blaze heads M J Conleys stable of five thoroughbreds John Jewell is bringing Friend Charley and four other horses to the races A L Darnaby is coming with six and J G Goode has an equal num ¬ ber headed by Grimace J C Ragan has a stable of six Will Reed colored trainer who wins many races has nine horses Counselor Crane heads R L Stivers stable of six The Dixiana Farm is sending seven under the care of B F Sheffel The Break and six others will race for E B Shipp W F Knebelkamp has nine horses with Tom Murray as trainer trainerSome Some of the outstanding jockeys of the l country are scheduled to have mounts dur ¬ ing the coming meeting meetingThe The first condition book shows a number of attractive races for the first seven days of the meeting In addition to the 1000 Inaugural Handicap the opening day there will be run the Evansville Courier dash for twoyearolds at five furlongs for a purse of 600 and the Bernardin Bottle Cap Com ¬ pany at one mile for threeyearolds and over for a purse of 700 The Henderson Gleaner and the Green River claiming fea ¬ ture the second day Monday August 6 The former is for threeyearolds and over at six furlongs for a purse of 700 The latter is for threeyearolds and over at one mile for a purse of 700 On Tuesday August 7 the Boonville Boosters Handicap for threeyear olds and over at one mile for a purse of 800 will be run The ac ¬ cepted an invitation from Mr Ellis to be present at Dade Park on that date and pre ¬ sent the trophy to the owner of the winning horse Other features on that day will be the Ol Man River for maiden twoyearolds at five furlongs for a purse of 600 the Paducah claiming for threeyearolds and over at six furlongs for a purse of 600 and the Union Pipe Supply Company claiming for threeyearolds and over Dade Park course for a purse of 700
