JMLAY was never far from the pace, made up ground steadily in the stretch and was racing well at the finish. DEER FLY, away rather slowly when his rider was caught napping, was in close quarters on the back stretch and made up ground, but never threatened the first two and can do better. BONYNGE tired after showing early speed. RAIN STAR quit badly. GREEN FLAME was off slowly. Overweight Aksala, 1 pound. SECOND RACE 5 1-2 FURLONGS, Alviso, Dec. 7, 1934 1:05 2 110. HIGH COLOR raced to the front at once and, withstanding challenges from ALSISTO, drew away in the last quarter to win handily. ALSISTO was in close quarters while attempting to get through on the inside of the winner around the far turn, but saved ground on the stretch turn to draw up and was not good enough, tiring in the final run. ANAPOLA lacked early speed and, although making up some ground, ran below form. MAILLIW raced fairly well. DROLE POLLY was done after being in close quarters on the far turn. MODOC WARRIOR showed a flash of early speed. Scratched 08951JSaragon, 105; 08952 Stuart Plaid, 108. Corrected weight High Color, 118. THIRD RACE 5 1-2 FURLONGS. Alviso, Dec. 7, 1934 1:05 2 110. STROLLING MISS raced forwardly and, saving as much ground as possible rounding the stretch turn, got through a narrow opening on the inside in the run home to catch ANTE BELLUM near the end and won drawing out. ANTE BELLUM, wearing four bandages, displayed the most early speed, but tired as if short nearing the end and appeared a trifle sore after pulling up. HARDATIT made a strong move approaching the stretch turn, but was in close quarters after entering the stretch and dropped back. MOHAC saved ground in the early part and entered the stretch next, to the rail, but was in close quarters when the leaders came over. NEVADA SAGE was off slowly and was never prominent. MISS MELODY had little trouble getting to the front on the inside and, after holding a comfortable lead to the stretch, drew out to win easily. LINDEN TREE displayed fairly good speed and may have needed the race. GEORGIA LILY was carried very wide by PRINCE HEATHER all down the back stretch and continued to race in the middle of the track to the finish. PRINCE HEATHER was inclined to bear out and was never a serious contender. SHARP THOUGHTS showed a slightly-improved effort. ORILEY was ridden by a novice rider and the race should be thrown out.
