CLOSING PROGRAM AT BOWIE ,000 Southern Maryland Handicap and ,000 Bowie Kindergarten Head Saturday Card. BOWIE, Md., April 12. For the final day of the Bowie, meeting of the Southern Maryland Racing Association an excellent program is offered with the ,000 added Southern Maryland Handicap and the Bowie Kindergarten with ,000 added, as the particular features. Six have accepted the weights for the Southern Maryland, which is a gallop of a mile and a sixteenth and of these the Shan-don Farm Stable is represented by a pair in Evergold and the good filly, Dust Girl; Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilts Dogmata, winner of the Inaugural of the meeting, is of the company and the B. B. Stable is represented by Good Harvest, winner of the Rowe Memorial. The other two are R. Robertsons Lynx Eye, a winner at the meeting, and A. J. Abels St. Moritz, a worthy three-year-old that is only required to take up ninety-five pounds. An excellent line has been obtained on these in actual racing, and while the track promises to be muddy for the running it should result in a first class renewal. Ever-gold and Dust Girl were sent along this morning for three furlongs and the former went in :37 in a manner to show a liking for -the footing, while the filly turned in three furlongs in :36, handily. Ten are named to bear silks in the Bowie Kindergarten, which is for juveniles, as the name suggests, and is a dash of a half mile. For this "Bud" Stotler has named both Parade Girl and Winter Sport from the Vanderbilt stable. Both are winners at the meeting and the performance of the filly was particularly impressive. Both are engaged in the Aberdeen at Havre de Grace. Distract, a winner at the meeting for the Wheatley Stable, is another and Victorious Ann, which took the measure of Winter Sport in her recent appearance, will bear the silks of Warren Wrights Calumet Farm Stable. Wise Duke, that raced well in Miami, is another and under the conditions he takes up the top weight of 120 pounds. Others in this are Someone Else, Beth Bon, Borsa and Playful Tour. Four of the other five races are fashioned for selling platers and each promises to bring together nicely balanced fields, while the other is a half mile dash for maiden two-year-olds that promises to see ten under silks. Although there is no overnight prospect for clear racing weather, preparations are being made for the accommodation of a big crowd. The Bowie patronage has ever ben a hardy one and with a recollection of how some ,000 was "shut out" from a "Daily Double" pool that was in excess of 0,000 last Saturday, many new windows will be opened to take care of that popular form of wagering.
