DONNA FRANCES took the lead soon after the start, saved ground on the rail all the way, withstood a challenge from SIR VAL in the first quarter, drew away from the field slightly rounding the turn, responded to urging when PRETTY ELLEN came up to her on the outside and, under a mild drive, came on to win handiiy. PRETTY ELLEN came with a rush on the outside rounding the turn, got to the winner, but tired in the final drive though being best of the others. YGNACIO, off slowly, closed a big gap on the back stretch and was closing very fast through the stretch, but could not get to the leaders. OLD MARK, never far back, ran gamely and was going well at the end. SIR VAL broke in front, was used up trying to stall off the winner in the first eighth and tired thereafter. PRISA was forced to take up in the first quarter and had no chance from there on. The others were always outrun. Corrected weight Frisco Bells, 113. SECOND RACE 7-8 MILE. SOLEDAD went to the front at once, set all the pace and was never in danger, coming on to win as his rider pleased. MINT BIRD, off well, closed fast entering the back stretch, could never get to the winner, but was much the best of the others. FLYING DAZZLER, always close up, closed gamely in the stretch run. BOURBON WHISKEY closed steadily while rounding the stretch turn and was racing well at the Finish. GEORGES PRIDE had some early speed, but dropped back after racing a half mile and was pulled up when he seemed hurt; while being saddled in the paddock he threw himself and apparently suffered some injury. MITIGATOR, off in front, was taken back off the early pace and well rated, steadily improved his position to the stretch, then went to the front at the sixteenth post and came on to win easily. REQUIEUM, closest to the early pacemaker throughout, ran head and head with NO NO to midway of the stretch, was used up trying to get to the front and had nothing left to hold the fast-closing winner. NO NO went to the front soon after the break to set the pace to the sixteenth post, then tired. GROSSMONT, far back for the first half mile, closed very fast in the stretch on the outside and was .racing fastest of all at the finish. QUICK SANTA and SUSIE PRICE showed some early speed, but tired in the run "home. SUSIE PRICE tiied badly. MARY DICK was off very slowly. Scratched 08879 Montana Maid, 109. MY LETITIA followed the pace closely throughout, came to the outside on the turn, steadily gained on the leaders, forged to the front entering the stretch and came on to win by a big margin. VERA CROFTON went to the front at the half-mile post, set the pace to the stretch head, then tired in the final eighth, but was much the best of the others. NOURRICE, far back in the early part, came around the. field on the far turn and was racing gamely at the end. CHOICE CALLER, close up all the way, saved ground on the rail all the way and was racing Well at thefihish. TREVALLION ran evenly throughout. WILLIE KLEIN showed a dull effort. BROWN BANK saved ground on the rail all the way and was racing gamely at the finish., ZONE, far back for the first half mile, came to the outside on the turn and was racing well at the end. ALA WITT was in close quarters all the way and could not improve her position. BLACK SHIRT had carlv speed, but tired badly in the final eighth. NACHO, racing on the outside, gained steadily on the leaders and closed with good courage. LAKELAND, never far from the leaders, cot up on the ar turn, but tired in the final eighth. FAIR ORB closed some ground on the back stretch and finished with good courage. SPECKLE broke in front, but dropped back rounding the first turn, came again in the stretch and was gomg well at the end.
