WILLIAM C. took command at once, drew away after disposing of DONNA JAMES and held SEYMOUR safe. The latter began slowest of all, worked his way forward steadily, came through the field for the drive and finished strongly. DONNA JAMES, under good urging while forcing the pace, dropped back entering the stretch, came again, but tired Tkt the end. SINGING RIVER, well up from the start, was shuffled back approaching the stretch turn, came around the field for the drive and closed with a rush. DUSTANNA, away slowly and shuffled back at the far turn, failed to improve her position thereafter. BROWN POLLY, used up in reaching contention, quit under pressure. FRIEND JOHN, away slowly and forced wide while racing forwardly,. closed with a rush, KINGSPORT, never far back and in close quarters for three-eighths, held on well. BIEN FAIT took command at once, drew away under light urging, responded to strong pressure when threatened, held on gamely and pulled up lame. BOLD LOVER followed the pace under light restraint, moved up with a rush when put to pressure and was impeded by the winner nearing the end. CHANCE LINE, forced wide while racing forwardly, finished well. RIP VAN WINKLE, outrun for three-quarters, closed strongly. SWEEPING LIGHT failed to improve his position under strong urging.
