500 RECEIVE PENSION SPRINGFIELD, 111., April 15 James H. Andrews, state superintendent of old age assistance, announced today that applications from 500 persons for the old age pension have been approved. The machinery for the administration of the old age pension in this state was one of the first set up. The federal government has not as yet approved the Illinois plan, but monthly payments of 5 have begun.
