AMERICAN-OWNED HORSE WINS Special Cablegram. CARDIFF, Wales, April 15. Mrs. F. Ambrose Clarks Sorley Boy and Free Wheeler, owned by Louis E. Stoddard, Jr., finished first and second in the Welsh Grand National Steeplechase, three and a half miles and fifty yards, here Monday. They were separated by one length. Golden Miller, winner of the Grand National Steeplechase at Aintree two years ago and owned by Miss Dorothy Paget, a cousin of John Hay Whitney, was third, three lengths off Free Wheeler. John Hay Whitneys Swallow Hawk was u: placed. Five other American-owned entries did not start. The winner paid 8 to 1. Golden Miller was the odds-on favorite at 2 to 3. Unlike his performance in the Aintree event last month, in which he fell at the first obstacle, Golden Miller jumped cleanly today.
