WILD PLAY rushed hard to reach a contending position in the initial quarter, lost some ground going around her field, responded well to strong urging and outstayed RAYMETA. The latter displayed good speed, set the pace under pressure and held on gamely to the end. COUNTESS MARIO was a factor throughout, threatened the leader in the last eighth, but faltered near the end. BILLY MOLE improved his position gradually and showed a good effort. LOCKSTEP was slow to begin, dosed with a rush, but ws never a contender. UP TO SNUFF was through after showing speed for a quarter. The latter, never far out of it, responded well to strong handling, but could not overtake the winner, showing a game effort. BACHELOR DINNER lacked his usual early speed, moved up with a rush on the inside at the far turn, where he was blocked by STE. LOUISE, and never recovered.
