FORM PLAYERS GET SETBACK Favorites Fail in All Six Races at Empire City Oval. Sunport Beats Billle Bane by Two Lengths In Glenbrook Graded Handicap-Talked About Proves Best. YONKERS, N. Y., Oct. 21 Sunport, which races for A. D. B. Pratt, was a comparatively easy winner of the best offering at the Hilltop course today, when, by a stretch rush, he took the measure of Biliie Bane, from the stable of "Mr. Nightingale," in the Glenbrook Graded Handicap. It was a dash of five and three-quarters furlongs, for which Biliie Bane was favorite. And, there was a general failure of the favorites, for Billle Bane was the fourth in a row to go down to defeat. Another day, more like August than October, brought out a big crowd and, while outsiders were successful, the racing was interesting. The start was a ragged one and Biliie Bane was one of the unfortunates, while Aroused and Sea Cradle were away in full stride, but Biliie Bane had Sunport headed in a few strides and had gone into third place, four lengths back of the leading pair. Sunportv racing outside the son of Bracdal-bane, was going well, and then came Sunan-air, Royal Fox and Abbots Trick, in the order named, the last of the trio having no chance with the break. PROVES THE GAMER. Sea Cradle hung to Aroused until she put him away, but it cost her much, and rounding into the stretch Biliie Bane swung outside the filly and soon had her headed, but Sunport had circled around the outside of Biliie Bane and, in the final furlong, proved the gamer to come on to victory by two lengths. f -s "jv- Biliie Bane had only beaten the tiring Sea Cradle half a length, and Sunanair closed some ground to be fourth. Before this running it was announced that Sea Cradle would perform for Mrs. W. Plunket Stewart, and she carried the silks of that sportswoman. The race gave Anderson a double, for he rode Talked About to victory in the second-best race of the day. Warren Wrights Talked About upset calculations when he was winner of the Castle Hill, a purse race for juveniles. His victory marked the overthrow of the first three favorites of the day for R. Ai Masons Your Honor was the choice, but third was the best he could accomplish when William Ziegler, Jr.s Zostera took second place. Both Zostera and Talked About were away from the stalls promptly and soon had a lead of two lengths over Your Honor, though the son of Justice F. was also away well, and within striking distance of the leaders. Zostera was showing the way to Talked About and racing strongly as the turn out of the back stretch was reached, but Anderson had Talked About under a slight restraint as he held his position. In the stretch he easily took command and won by half a length. OPENER TO SALAVINA. Salavina, purchased from John Sanford by Milton M. Gellinger privately, was winner of the opener. John E. Hughes Happy Hazel took the place and .third was the: portion of Victor Emanuels Sorceress. As the race was run Happy Hazel appeared best but she was off badly and had to overcome considerable interference slipping through on the inside to close with a rush that would have seen her the winner in a few more strides. Salavina followed the pace furnished by Sorceress to come away in the final furlong when the pacemaker weakened slightly after losing some ground on the stretch turn. William N. Adrians Lord Tournament lost a close decision in the five and three-quarters furlongs of the second race, when in the final nod the nose of Mrs. Val Cranes Elwawa showed in front. Two lengths back Mrs. William Russells Social Error beat La Charite for third. From a good start, Flopsie went into command and she was soon headed by Lord Tournament and as he went to the front he was taken under a slight restraint but Elwawa, that was in second place, was also under restraint. Rounding into the stretch it appeared that Lord Tournament had lead enough to see him safely home but in the final furlong he began to weaken and Hanford drove Elwawa furiously to take the purse in the last nod. Social Error ran down La Charite and Flopsie for her share.
