FANCY THAT, favored by improved handling over his recent race, moved into a king lead immediately after the start, saved ground all the way and had much in reserve at the end. JOLLY JACK raced forwardly placed from the beginning and held on well, although no match for the winner. DO IT was stoutly ridden all the way and had no excuses. GRAPE THIEF could not enter a contending position. DON GOMEZ showed a good effort. DARK FLYER was held safe. ACUTE, away fast, dropped back rapidly in the first sixteenth. The others were outrun. WENT TO POST 2:48. AT POST 1 minute. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. SWIMALONG, taken under stout restraint for the first mile after coming into an easy lead, responded courageously when challenged coming to the twelfth fence and was under severe pressure at the end to withstand OMEL. The latter, restrained off the pace for the first mile, stole through on the inside of RIDE-AWAY and SALUDA at the last turn, saved much ground while the winner bore out and finished gamely. SALUDA entered a forward position after racing a mile, was put to severe urging and punishment, but failed to menace in the final drive. RIDEAWAY, rated for a mile, challenged going to the next to the last fence, but tired and may have needed the race. TEDDY THE BOLD was held safe. SOUWESTER offered stout contention until reaching the last fence, where he fell. WOODWIND lost his rider at the tenth fence and BIG MARCH fell at the fourth. Won driving; second and third the same. DONADULCIN, going in her best form and a factor in the early running, took a short lead midway of the final tum when moving through on the inside, came again after being overhauled midway of the stretch and outlasted HAPPY HAZEL in the final drive. The latter followed close to the leaders while on the outside, took a slight lead in the final eighth, but became very tired and faltered in the last sixteenth. SYLVIA G. was used up racing with the winner in the first seven-eighths and tired. PRETTYLASS lacked early speed, then circled her field to make up some ground in the late stages. SUN WAY was held safe. FLUFFY LEE was done after going three-quarters. THE SWAGMAN was unable to threaten seriously. SAY DO raced poorly. WICKCLIFFE BOY was away poorly and does not appear to be in condition, as he failed to show any speed. Overweight Dona Dulcin, 3J pounds; Happy Ha2el, 2; Sun Way, 1; The Swagman, 1. YOMER had much speed, raced around his company rapidly and opened up a commanding lead on the turn swerved repeatedly after reaching the stretch, but held sway without effort. BERTILLON raced prominently in the early racine, closed gamely, but could not threaten the winner. SLOW MOTION started very slowly, settled into his stride and finished with good energy on the outside in the final drive. LOW CUTS followed closest to the winner for the first three-eighths, but tired gradually in the stretch drive. AMBROSIA was hard ridden, but was unable, to. menace. WESTON raced kindly and, nicely handled, took command soon after the start, was steadied in front until reaching the stretch, began bearing out in the final eighth and had to be roused sharply to withstand FINANCE. The latter, following closest to the winner, challenged strongly entering the stretch when placed to punishment and gained slowly at the close. BRIGHT AND EARLY raced on the outside from the start and could not threaten seriously. BOBS BOYS showed a good effort and was worked out a slow mile. BABY TALK was outrun all the way. The latter, rated until settled into his best stride, circled around his field and closed stoutly after losing a great deal of ground in the stretch drive. MISS PECAN, shuffled back soon after the start, raced to the outside in the back stretch to reach a forward position and held on well to the close. MOONPENNY, away slowly, closed gamely when in full stride. EXAGGERATION raced evenly. FLYING FEET tired badly when forced to a drive. ITALIAN HARRY does not call for much. TONEY BOY sprinted into a clear lead in the first quarter mile, rallied to a drive when reaching the stretch and, holding on well, outstayed EMVEE. The latter raced forwardly under steady pressure and closed with good energy when placed to punishment in the final drive. COUNT TETRARCH, away well but lacking early speed, came through on the inside in the last quarter mile and finished gamely. STINGAREE could not reach the leaders at any stage. DAFFY stole through on the inside when reaching the stretch, closed determinedly and was up right at the close. DEPARTED, slow to get going, worked his way up on the outside, made a wide turn into the stretch, was straightened out and finished with a rush. ABBOTS LAST followed close up early, assumed a short lead midway of the stretch, but hung under a hard drive. JUSTA PLAY opened up a clear lead early, but tired badly in the last three-eighths. PASS showed a good effort. SUN ABBOT raced in poor fashion and can do better. GOODY GOODY tired early. SAND CLOUD had no excuses.
