f JAMAICA TRACK NOTES Jockey Harry Richards was instructed by trainer Clarke to be on hand to ride J. H Louchheims Pompoon in the Wood Memorial. Frank Shannon, after an absence of several days, resumed his post in the club house ring. W. A. Shea sold Merry Maker to Miss E. G. Rand, and the colt will run in her name and interests in the Wood Memorial. W. H. Callagher returned from Narragan-sett, where he inspected several new two-year-olds which arrived there from Kentucky. John Shevlin, secretary for the racing commission, was a first-time visitor. Eddie Walsh arrived from Miami and will remain for the season. Trainer Jim Healy stated that J. H. Whitneys Flying Scot will be a starter in the Wood Memorial. John Goebel, associated with John Rogan in the club commissioners row, is on the ailing list Jockey R. Workman arrived from Keene-land and accepted mounts Thursday. The Elks will hold funeral services for Nat Vogel at 7:30 p. m. on Friday, followed by a family service at Fairchilds Mortuary, 87 Lefferts Place, Brooklyn. Interment will take place Saturday morning. Mrs. Ann Brooks, a sister of Phil McKim, died at her St Louis home yesterday, according to a message received here. Walter Carter stated that Wayne Wright would ride Clodion in the Wood Memorial on Saturday. Misael Villena, a Porto Rican, arrived here and is under contract to C. Shakeley. The boy rode in Florida. Eddie Gorman is improving steadily at Mary Immaculate Hospital, according to advices from that institution. Don Cameron arrived at Belmont Park with the horses owned by J. Shirley Riley, of Norfolk, Va. Hughie Collins was an addition to the ranks of the clubhouse commissioners. J. Stout is engaged to ride W. H. Gallaghers Rudie in the Wood Memorial. Mrs. Deering Howe took a call on the services of jockey Eddie Arcaro for the remainder of the season.
