THE FLOWER, close up from the start, raced wide on the stretch turn to find the best going and, after interfering with PAT W., took command and drew out easily in the last eighth. FLAG BEARER had the most early speed, but tired in the stretch and was doing his best to hold second place. NEW TRIAL had speed from the start and raced fairly well to the finish. JOCKWELL was .unable to keep up with the early leaders, but closed some ground. PAT W. tired after meeting with interference from the winner on the stretch turn. READY TEDDY had early speed. ALICE BYRD, well up from the start, made a strong move after leaving the back stretch to get to the front in the run home and drew out to an easy win. BRITISH TAN moved up strongly in the back stretch to head the field on the far turn, but could not resist the winner, although much the best of the others. FLINTRIDGE raced in the worst going and was tiring at the finish. THISTLE AIR was prominent to the stretch, then tired. MY MINT quit. REY ORO tired badly. MASTER JEAN cot through an opening to take command on the far turn, but tired in the stretch. SHASTA PLAY" closed gamely in the middle of the track. BYRDFORD had early speed, but tired. ONE MILE swerved repeatedly and did not seem to fancy the difficult going. BELLOS was allowed to race in the worst going all the way and had little chance. SUSAN W. could not untrack herself. SAN RAMON came to the outside in the stretch and. finishing gamely on his own courage, got to the front near the end and had enough left to hold SWEEP QUICK safe. The latter came strongly on the inside in the last eighth to finish close up. SWEET MYSTERY was well up throughout. CRYSTAL LAKE was closest ta FELLA most of the way, but faltered after heading the latter near the finish. FELLA opened up a good lead in the early stages and was racing well in front in the stretch when he bled and quit. CAN ELE was done after going three-quarters. Overweight Donna Jean, 2 pounds.
