SEABISCUIT AND WAR ADMIRAL MAY MEET AGAIN 0,000 WIDENER CUP Prospective Race in Which Noted Pair May Clash on March 4. Seabiscuits Owner Awaits Weights on Santa Anita Handicap and Hia-leah Feature Before Deciding. MIAMI, Fla., Dec. 8 War Admiral and Seabiscuit may meet again. There is more than a mere desire to see the famous pair in actual combat, actuating the statement above. The facts are that both War Admiral and Seabiscuit are entered in the Widener Cup, the 150,000 feature of the Hialeah Park meeting, while only Seabiscuit is eligible for the 00,000 Santa Anita Handicap, both races to be run on the same day March 4. It is no secret that Charles S. Howard, owner of Seabiscuit, is anxious to have his great horse retire the worlds leading money winner, surpassing the earnings of the present titleholder, Sun Beau. Victory in either the Widener Cup or the Santa Anita Handicap would bring about the realization of that cherished ambition. From New York came word that Mr. Howard has indicated that there was a possibility his horse would meet War Admiral again, in the 0,000 added Widener Cup race, to be run March 4 at Hialeah Park. NOW AT COLUMBIA. Howard said that, contrary to public belief, Seabiscuit now is in Columbia, S. C, and not in California. He said Seabiscuit would stay there until weights are announced for the Santa Anita Handicap and the Widener race, both of which will be run March 4. "When we see the weights," Howard said, "we will decide between the two races. I am willing to admit that the weights will play a heavy part in the decision. I would like to have Seabiscuit defeat War Admiral again, and I also am keen to have him beat Stagehand, if he can. It looks now as though those two horses will race at Miami." It has been intimated that Seabiscuits owner is fully convinced that his pride and joy can beat War Admiral at any time and feels that another contest with the Riddle champion would prove this not only to his own but everyone elses satisfaction. This will be the last opportunity for a meeting of the noted pair, as it is the intention of owner Samuel Riddle to retire War Admiral to the stud after his Hialeah Park engagements.
