BALKOS MAID, never far back and steadied along for three-eighths, responded to urging thereafter, tore out entering the stretch and, closing gamely, was up in the closing strides: MISS BALKO, a sharp factor from the beginning, continued gamely after being put to a drive in the last quarter and just failed . to last. MISS LIZZIE had good speed from the beginning, was pinched back on the turn and, when clear, came again, finishing strongly. HENRY M. held his position for a half mile without need of pressure, then held on well to the last eighth when urged and tired. JADVA, in hand early, was carried wide entering the stretch. UPHOLDER, well up from the start, was in hand to the last quarter and held on fairly well thereafter under pressure. INSTEAD, vigorously handled after a quarter, had no mishaps. BUSBY, never a great distance back and in hand for five-eighths, moved up steadily thereafter, came to the outside for the drive and was up near the end. DYAK, outrun for a half mile, improved his position thereafter on the outside, got to the front inside the last eighth, but could not stall off the winner. HERMOSILLO, strongly restrained for five-eighths, took command on the stretch turn, drew out approaching the last eighth and then tired. PRINCE CLOUD came over sharply after the start, was in hand while racing well up for three-quarters, was put to pressure thereafter and tired in the last eighth. COMPUTER made up ground after being outrun for three-quarters. RAIL DOWN, taken up repeatedly, was blockd again when moving up in the stretch. BEAUTIFUL BUD was through early. SMITH DAVID was blocked when trying to move up on the inside in the stretch. VEILSTAR quit after- five-eighths. The latter followed in close pursuit of the pacemaker from the start, moved up threateningly on the outside in the last quarter, re-1 sponded readily to vigorous urging, but was not good enough. CROUT AU POT lacked early speed and was far out of it for a half mile, was forced wide while improving his position and closed strongly. GLOWSET ducked in at the break, recovered quickly and worked her way up on the inside. PETARD, close up to the final three-sixteenths, tired steadily thereafter. FLOSILDA gave way after a half mile. SUGABOOT dropped back sonn after the start and was always outrun. PHALASAN, prominent from the start but forced wide while working her way up, responded well to urging, but was no match for the winner. PANDONNA raced well up throughout under vigorous urging, tiring slightly in the late stages. JOANNY bore out most of the way and showed good speed in the final quarter when straightened out. VIRGINIA J. was in close quarters, then was taken back and never recovered. DUSKY PRINCE raced evenly throughout. RADIO CHARM showed speed for a half mile, then gave way suddenly.
