, i J j ! I 1 ! 1 FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES I $ s Barry "Brass" McDonald, prominent St. Louis sportsman, was a visitor at the track along with a party of friends from Memphis. McDonald and his friends will be here for several days, the group planning to attend the Sugar Bowl football game. Eladio Barrera purchased the plater Kan-sascitian at the Fair Grounds for a private consideration and his brother, Angel Barrera, will take over the horse for further conditioning. Harry Murdock, owner of a number of horses here in charge of Nick Burger and who established a breeding farm at Collins-ville, 111., is due to arrive in New Orleans within a few days nad will remain for an indefinite stay. Otto Bagley, trainer of the Blue Ridge Stable, nom de course of Mrs. M. E. OToole of Chicago, was a visitor at the Fair Grounds and will return to Hot Springs, where he has the stable quartered awaiting the opening of the Oaklawn Park meeting. Harry D. Parker made his departure for Miami, Fla., and plans to remain in the Everglades State for the remainder of the winter. Dan Hardy purchased Sir Quest at private sale at the Fair Grounds and will train the racer for his future races, Although a race and.a substitute was made out of the first race Thursday, ninety-one were excluded from the initial race book. Yearlings which were added to the ap- proval mark by starter Johnny Morrissey are Nobs Choice, Wike, Don Rafael and Canbe.
