1939 COLUMBUS RACE DATES COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 29. Beaulah Park will open Ohios racing season in 1939 with a twenty-five day meeting from April 22 to May 20, inclusive, according to the announcement of Robert J. Dienst, president and general manager. It will mark the earliest opening date in many years at Beulah Park and was planned in order to avoid conflicting with River Downs. A fall meeting will be held from September 2 to September 23, j nineteen days, which will complete the maximum number of forty-four days allowed by law. Dienst also announced that a midsummer meeting is planned at Lancaster, Ohio, again in 1939, but the dates have not as yet been set. 1
