LADY EMISON was kept in close pursuit of MADERIS after being displaced, moved up fast to take command after being straightened into the stretch, withstood a stout drive and came out slowly. BUDDIE TREACY, going in his best form, had speed in the early running and finished with good courage in the final drive. R. PINCHOT, sluggish in the early running, improved his position strongly in the late stages while on the outside. FLICKERING raced in the thick of contention and fought it out gamely. MADERIS was hurried to keep in front and saved ground, but tired in the last eighth. ASSIST raced evenly. MISS DE MIE raced strongly for five-eighths, then tired. PRINCESS TORCH could not reach the leaders. BROGUE was shuffled back early. FREE RIDE and MINT PATCH lacked speed. GOLD KNIGHTESS, having good speed to race forwardly in the early running, rallied to a tenacifiMS drive when straightened into the stretch and wore down FAIR in the last strides. FAIR set a steady pace after going to the front early and fought it out with excellent courage when challenged. ROCK HIGH raced well placed early and finished gamely under a hard drive. IZAAK WALTON was in the thick of contention all the way and held on well. JESSIE V. L., beginning slowly, weaved between horses in the last three-sixteenths to close stoutly. BAYDROP raced evenly while lacking racing room for the better part of the trip. COUNT COTTON could not reach the leaders. HIGH TREASON tired. BLAKEEN raced well. BLAZE DOR trailed all the way. CARLSBAD, breaking slowly, was rushed up fast to Teach a forward position, swung to the outside of OFF GUARD on the stretch turn, gained command inside the final eighth and drew out under punishment. OFF GUARD set a fast pace and saved ground, but faltered badly in the stretch run. RADIO GOLD finished gamely on the outside. CORONADO broke slowly, then made up much ground while going wide. MASTER HOWARD fell back suddenly on the turn out of the back stretch and failed to menace thereafter. SAXONIAN tired under punishment after going a half mile. BULLET B. was never a threat. STAROGAN was hustled hard to take command in the opening eighth, met a bold challenge from LITTLE TARZAN on the stretch turn and drew out very slowly nearing the finish. LITTLE TARZAN raced stoutly while in pursuit of the winner, made strong bids and continued gamely. DULCIMER, kept within striking distance of the leaders, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and finished gamely. SPRING MOON was always prominent and held on well. LONG FACE improved position on the inside early, then swung to the outside in the late stages. LADFIELD could not get into a contending position. CANDY HERO tired gradually. KNIGHT GALLANT was rated nicely, made weak challenges in the last half mile and tired in the stretch drive. PATAN, beginning slowly, circled his field to enter contention, then finished between horses in the late stages to make up a big gap. FIGHT BACK raced in spots while going in the first flight. GIANT KILLER closed a big gap. DOUBLE R. passed tiring horses. THE STORY was done after going three-quarters. VELOCITER was held safe. SUN MICA quit, as did COURTNEYS PET. The latter was prominent from the start and closed gamely, although no serious threat to the winner. WHAT A PAL raced in tight quarters for three-quarters, found racing room and finished strongly in the late stages. PROPRIETARY was forwardly placed from the start and made several moves, but was not good enough. REBUTTAL lacked early speed and could not reach the leaders. ANCIENT ROME raced evenly. ONRUSH lost much ground on the first turn.- THAT ONE showed a flash of early speed. The others were outrun.
