LUCKY JEWELL began to improve her position after three-eighths, took command with a rush entering the stretch and held her advantage to the end, but had nothing left. BRILLIANT ONE, outrun for a half mile, moved up steadily thereafter and closed gamely. FIRE BALL made up ground fast after being outrun to the last quarter. MINNIE POT, never a great distance back, made up some ground after five-eighths. CALANTA, well up from the start and in hand for five-eighths, failed to rally when shaken up thereafter. LA ROGERS, well up and in hand for a half mile, took command going into the second turn and then tired in the last quarter. BANNER WITCH quit. COMPUTER began to improve his position after a half mile while lugging, lost ground on the stretch turn, bore in sharply in the drive and closed well. HEREWARD made up ground after being outrun for three-quarters. ARCTIC STAR had no excuses. CATSWEEP, well up and in hand for three-quarters, tired thereafter under pressure. GENERAL BOY was through after a half mile. ERECH, hard ridden after five-eighths, lost ground on the stretch turn and then pulled up lame. SOUND WAVE had good speed from the beginning, was hard ridden after a half mile and held on well. SUN HENRY, never a great distance back and steadied along for three-eighths, held on fairly well thereafter under vigorous handling. WICKED TIME failed to rally when shaken up entering the stretch. LUCRE LUDE tired after a half mile. MY GRACIOUS lacked early speed and made up some ground after a half mile. HELMOR was through early. DEDICATION began slowly, then made up ground rapidly in the final eighth. NIM followed in closest pursuit of the pacemaker from the start, but tired when placed to extreme pressure. DINNER JACKET worked his way up on the inside, saving much ground and tired in the drive. ROYAL BROOM could not keen up. DUSKY PRINCE began slowly, worked his way up between horses and, getting through on the inside on the stretch turn, assumed the lead when straightened out, but required strenuous urging to outstay PHALASAN. The latter worked her way up on the outside, was forced wide on the stretch turn and closed strongly. FORE was unable to keep up in the early stages, improved his position gradually and showed a good effort. WEEKLY STIPEND had no excuse. SANGREAL assumed a slight lead after going a quarter and saved ground, but tired rapidly under pressure in the last sixteenths. JOANNY showed brief early speed. SUN CAPTURE lacked speed.
