TSANTA ANITA TURF NOTES I g : Approximately 1,200 horses from all parts of the country are on hand for the meeting, including divisions from such prominent establishments as those of John Hay Whitney, Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, Greentree Stable, Mrs. Charles Shipman Fayson, Mrs. Vera S. Bragg, Louis B. Mayer, Jack L. Warner, W. E. Boeing, A. A. Baroni, Mrs. John Hertz, J. Shirley Riley, Circle M Ranch, Millsdale Stable, Mrs. Anthony Pelleteri, C. M. Willock, Charles Stewart Howard, Nelson A. Howard, Bing Crosby, Binglin Stable, Spencer Tracy, Thomas D. Taggart, William Ziegler, Jr.; Mrs. Bessie Franzheim, King Ranch, W. J. Hirsch, Hal Price Headley, G-T. Williams, Austin C. Taylor and Norman W. Church. A good share of the countrys best known jockeys have registered including Johnny Longden, Johnny Adams, Sammy Williams, Sammy Renick, Jack Westrope, Raymond Workman, Silvio Coucci, Basil James, George Woolf, Charles Stevenson, Charles Corbett, Carroll Bierman, Alfred Shelhamer, Ralph Neves, Allan Gray, Warren Van Tassel, M. L. Fallon, Leo Fallon, Kenneth McCombs, Lucas Dupps, Danny Brammer, Lloyd Knapp and Nick Wall. Officials of the meeting are stewards: C. J. FitzGerald, J.. K. Macomber, J. F. Gallagher, J. C. McGill and W. A. Quigley; placing judges: Webh Everett, John Maluvius and C. J. FiezGerald, Jr.; starter, Eddie Thomas; racing secretary: Webb Everett; clerk of scales: C. J. FitzGerald, Jr., and paddock judges: J. F. Gallagher and J. C. McGill and timer William Cunningham. Post time for the first race Saturday will be 1:00 oclock and 1:30 oclock thereafter. Santa Anita does not have the "Daily Double." Trainer William Osborne, in charge of the stable of C. M. Willock of Pasadena, has added the two-yearrold, Brown Whisk, and the older Arilad to his string. The new additions were acquired from Drigger Brothers, at Agua Caliente, and arrived at the Arcadia course Friday. R. Robinson, apprentice under call to L. E. Redmon, will do some commuting during the week-end periods. He will ride at Santa Anita week days and Agua Caliente Sundays. Included among the registrations which were filed were those of H. H. Jones, who filed for Bachelors Bower; O. F. Lazarus, who brought Zor here; J. Emmons, with Tri-Strap and Company; C. R. West, with Worry; E. Anderson, with C. H. Reeds Port O Pal; C. A. Leggett filed for Mrs. M. V. Lun-dys Daily News, and Lundy and Ryans Ziff and Tom Westrope, who brought in Miss G. Killeens Bon Centime and Red Powder, which represents Killeen and Hanley.
