JOHN HERTZ REPORTED INTERESTED IN NEW JERSEY John D. Hertz, chief stockholder of the Arlington Park course, near Chicago, is reported to be interested in a new track in New Jersey. According to the rumor, the I Chicagoan seeks to be in on the ground floor when New Jersey legalizes the pari-mutuel system of wagering. He is said to be confident that the legislature will pass the act, and has his eye on a site near the Washington Bridge. Lou Smith is also reported to be interested in the same locality. Hertz made Arlington Park one of the outstanding tracks in America and is said to have some of the same ideas for a New Jersey course. He has a minor interest in Hialeah Park at Miami.
