VELVET MASK moved to the front in the opening sixteenth, was rated nicely while saving ground and drew out under light urging in the last eighth. LADDIE STONE follo;ved closest to the winner from the start, raced well up for five-eighths, then could not keep pace in the closing drive. BELIEVER improved position steadily and came with good courage in the late stages. CHISPA was prominent all during the running and had r.o excuses. ATTAINMENT failed to engage the leaders. TONIANNA bro!:e slower than usual and was unable to menace. AFTERMATH appeared to sulk. MY BLAZE was strongly ridden. FLYING RAPTURE fell back badly after breaking clear and fast. TWO TRICKS quit. MILK, intelligently handled, was taken under light reserve when IRENES BOB was sanf into the lead, stayed on the outside while racing close up, then rallied strongly under a strong drive in the last eighth to get up inside the last fifty yards. IRENES BOB showed much speed while setting the pace,- then saved ground, but faltered suddenly in the last sixteenth. GREEN MELON raced stoutly and finished with goqd speed after bearing out in the last eighth. SEMESTER had good speed, but was not good enough. DALAMAt could not better her position. AUNT FLOR was in tight quarters in the early racing. NAT BRAGG racsd jn sluggish fashion. DUNDRUM had no excuses. The latter was forwardly placed in the early stages, responded to punishment and made up ground slowly. GUILD was ridden stoutly to keep within striking distance of the leaders and closed stoutly. FLUSHING, outrun in the first half mile, secured racing room on the inside in the late stages, but could not threaten. PHIL GOUGH failed to rally when shaken up. OLD . MAIN ROAD would not extend himself. BIG VICTORY, slow to settle in stride, passed tiring horses. TIME ROW had no excuses. MARJORIE L. showed a Jifch turn of speed early, then flattened out. The latter, in very close quarters for a half mile, secured racing room on the inside rounding the turn and came to the outside of the winner, but could not gain in the stretch drive. MR. BUDDY was strongly ridden to hold a contending position and held on with good courage. SKIPPED was always close up and showed a good performance. SUN MADRAS could not make up p.round under strong urging. LITTLE: TRAMP was held safe. HI-GINNY lacked early speed and was taken wide. HAZEL NUT tired after showing much early speed. WOODSIA saved much ground from the beginning and raced forwardly, but failed to better her position. MANSCO lacked early speed and was held safe. .GHOST TRAIN could not keep up. CONRAD MANN dropped far out of contention after being pinched off at the start, circled his field and finished strongly. KNIGHT WARRIOR set a steady pace, but could not keep up when the, real test came. BAILIWICK found racing room all the way, but could not menace. WOODWAAC raced in the thick of contention after being displaced and fought it out courageously. WINGED FLIGHT, trailing his field but never far from the leaders, stole through on the inside on the stretch turn and finished full of run. PEEDEEQUE. going within striking distance of the leaders, found racing room on the inside, but failed to rally when taken to the outside nearing the stretch.
