WALSH TO SUCCEED FLYNN ALBANY, N. Y., Dec. 30. Gov. Lehman announced today that he would appoint Michael F. Walsh of Brooklyn as secretary of state to succeed Edward J. Flynn, who has indicated his retirement. Walsh, now a United States attorney for the eastern district of New York, was born in Brooklyn in 1894. He is the son of Patrick Walsh, assistant chief of the New York City fire department. Flynn informed Governor Lehman several weeks ago that he could not accept re-ap-. pointment because of ill health.
