WEGOWAY, much the best, was shut off when permitted to drop back in the first eighth, then came to the outside to move up steadily nearing the stretch turn and, despite being all over the track in the run home, won handily. RECOATNA bore out on the first turn, carrying LEE TORCH with her, then took a short lead on the back stretch and raced fairly well to the finish. DON GRAFTON came steadily in the final quarter and was racing well at the finish. ROYAL REIGH saved ground but was rather weakly handled. LEE TORCH and PORLEZZA tired. INDIAN LODGE had speed, but was in close quarters on the inside in the early stages, then went to the outside of BOSS MARTIN in the stretch and finished fairly welL BOSS MARTIN began fast but was in close quarters near the finish after making a good pace.
